10/17/07 Pacific Earthworks has begun construction on the culvert across Lake Washington Blvd. They will be excavating on both the east and west sides of the street, and there will be some temporary lane closures. They expect to be completely done by the end of November, at which time the creek will begin to flow! We were able to afford this work because of grants from the Fish America Foundation and the King Conservation District.
On Saturday, October 13, with the help of about 25 very enthusiastic and capable MBA students from Seattle University, we planted 1,000 plants inside the construction fence. We still have about 1,700 left to plant this year, but we should be able to keep to that schedule. The Seattle U students also helped us haul out about a ton of concrete debris from the cove area.
