This page is about our monitoring effort which began during the summer of 2008, when Seattle Urban Nature set up 14 25 square meter plots (a map of the plots is here) in various parts of our 3 acre project area. They also trained FOMW volunteers in monitoring protocols during July, 2008. In September for each of the next three years, we will gather data on plant health, percent coverage, the presence of invasive plants, etc. The information is entered in a database prepared by SUN. Here is a brief doc with some extra details about the monitoring. Tree/Shrub Health Index Report. Since we've rated the health of each tree and shrub in our plots, we can characterize the overall health of each species with this index. It varies from 0 (dead), 25% (poor), 50% (dead), 100% (good).
For each plot, the table links to pictures and data for each year. |
